What are Neurotoxins?

The Neurotoxin Treatment 

No matter which neurotoxin you’re having administered, the treatment process is relatively similar. We’ll start by cleansing the treatment area and preparing your injections. From there, your provider will use a thin needle to inject the appropriate neurotoxin into the treatment area. How many injections are done and how much neurotoxin formula is used will depend on the extent of your concerns and the results you’re looking for. Treatment typically doesn’t take more than 30 minutes.

Neurotoxin Recovery and Results 

After your neurotoxin injections, you will likely see some redness, swelling, and tenderness, but those side effects will subside within a day or two, if not sooner. You will want to avoid lying down for the first few hours to stop the formula from migrating to other areas of the face. 

During the first few days after treatment, you’ll want to avoid touching or putting pressure on the treatment area. You’ll also want to avoid strenuous activities, alcohol, and blood thinners.  

As for results, neurotoxins usually show initial results within a few days, with full results taking about one to two weeks, depending on the neurotoxin used. The results tend to last 3-4 months, with re-treatment needed to maintain the results.
