What is RF Microneedling?

RF microneedling (radiofrequency microneedling) combines radiofrequency energy and microneedling treatment for the ultimate in skin rejuvenation. Who is a Candidate for RF Microneedling?

Radiofrequency microneedling is considered safe for most patients, but it’s not always right for everyone. Some of the criteria we follow when determining if RF microneedling is right for a patient include the following:

• Patients in generally good health with realistic expectations of treatment
• Exhibiting early signs of aging like lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, and stretch marks
• Are able to commit to a quality skincare regimen

We don’t recommend RF microneedling if you’re currently using Accutane, have an active skin infection, are pregnant, or have a history of keloids or excessive scarring.

The RF Microneedling Treatment

RF microneedling treatment is fairly straightforward. We’ll start by cleansing the treatment area. We can also apply a topical anesthetic if you’re worried about discomfort. From there, your provider will apply the RF microneedling handpiece to the skin and pass it along the treatment area. You may feel a mild prickling, warmth, or the sensation of a mild sunburn.

Depending on the size of the treatment area, treatment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

To enhance the results you receive from RF microneedling treatment, we also offer exosomes and PRP (platelet-rich plasma).

RF Microneedling Recovery and Results

After your RF microneedling treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, and slight bruising, but these side effects are usually mild and dissipate within 24 hours. Most patients can return to their normal activities within a day or two.

While you may see some results as your skin heals in the days after your treatment, the optimal results typically take 3-6 months to appear as the collagen builds up in the skin. While one treatment session can provide significant results, multiple treatments are typically recommended for optimal results. Most patients receive 2-3 treatments.
